endangered language

At present, both individuals and governments are concerned about vocabulary diversity since an increasing number of reviews have demonstrated some considerable decrease in the amount of languages over the last few decades (Romaine, 2007). Additionally , the future of many languages is also gloomy. As a consequence, if to protect endangered languages is a quite debatable issue at the moment. This dissertation will discuss both benefits and drawbacks of protecting languages, which are quite essential for governments and other organisations. 1 argument submit is that humanity should value languages because it may showcase the development of ethnical diversity. The same as biology, a language is not just related to someone nation's benefit or correct, but likewise connects for the culture program all over the world (Crystal, 2000). Using this perspective, destruction to any element in the system may cause unpredictable results in this system in general (ibid). Additionally , the variety may showcase the development of lifestyle. That means languages often enjoy an important position in our contemporary society through selection, regardless of its population. However, it is recommended that a lot of linguists' statements for the protection of language might neglect its essence and true function: that is connection. In other words, if a language can be spoken only by a people, it is not a genuine language (Malik, 2000). Undoubtedly, it is good for other different languages and nationalities. However , the main benefit is certainly not because of the uniqueness of different 'languages', but because of removing barriers and making connections around them (ibid). Therefore , a language becomes extinct as it has misplaced the function of interaction instead of some other reasons. Additionally , protectionism seems to produce a negative impact on economy and society, especially in some multicultural society. Take Indonesia as an example, the government can charge an values test from your language about foreign lawyers (Krieler, 2013)....
